Highlights with Arthur - Week 4

Arthur taught us to make grilled Nutella sandwiches - AMAZING!
We managed to make sure Arthur to every professional sporting event possible in the summer while he was staying with us. The last one was a REAL game - on a beautiful night and it was a great game - REAL won 2-0.  We loved it!

the sky was amazing that night

Monday we went up to Jordanelle for a little boating outing with the Byers (to celebrate Jadon's birthday and HS graduation). We stayed overnight in these cool bunkhouses and then rented a boat that came with the driver - pretty good gig.

Arthur ordered a kids meal at MacDo's and he got about 3 fries in this tiny little box

Kamryn loved going on the kneeboard and got up on her first try.

I was so surprised that Jared wanted to try the kneeboard but was so glad he did
He also did great and got right up

Arthur was a pro

Taylor was also PRO

Jadon and Taylor were so much fun to watch on the tube

We rented a paddleboard and everyone had fun taking that out on the lake

After boating on Monday we had dinner and played some fun volleyball

Poor Paul can never get away from work

Jadon tried surfing and did great!

Tuesday morning waiting for the boat to be ready to go

Highlights with Arthur - Week 3

To start out the 3rd week we went down to Provo for Justin's mission president's homecoming.
After the meeting there was a big reunion party lunch at his estate

Arthur with Justin's MTC companion,  Elder Joseph Ashton

Justin and  Elder Zoram Dean, companions in Montpellier

Elder James Wulfenstein and Justin were comps in the MTC

Arthur meeting President Roney
the whole family with President and Sister Roney
(except Jared who didn't want to go to Zions and stayed at the Byers)

From Provo we drove down to St George so we could go to Zions and hike the narrows with Arthur

We love this hike and I don't think we'll ever get tired of doing it!

Next up was Bastille day, which we learned this year, the French do not refer to it as Bastille day, but as the 14th of July.  Just like we say the 4th of July.

My awesome friend, Michelle, hosts a "14th of July" party every year at her house and this year she invited all the french students and their host families (about 1/2 could come)

preparing to sing a traditional French anthem for us

visiting and eating French food

It worked out perfectly that our ward had scheduled the scouts high adventure activity while Arthur was staying with us.  His parents were happy for him to go with them.  They went to Hinckley Ranch and had a great time.

Taylor, Arthur, Logan, Caleb

The boys were able to shoot guns, go mountain boarding, mtn biking, climbing and repelling.  On the way home they stopped at Provo River Falls to show Arthur where we love to camp and hike.
