My Favorite Holiday

I love Christmas but I think my favorite holiday is the 4th of July.  I love all things patriotic - love red, white and blue and all that goes with it.  And my very favorite place to spend the 4th is up at our Brighton family cabin.  We've been lucky to be able to be up there the last couple of years but this year it was our family's turn to have the cabin for the week of the 4th so we got to stay up there for a few days.

Its been a tradition since I was pretty young to go to the breakfast at the Brighton chapel.
We haven't been for several years but decided to try it out again.
After standing in line for about 45 minutes and having ok food
we remembered why we don't go to the breakfast anymore.
It was still fun for tradition's sake.

The best part of the 4th is the small town parade!
The kids waiting for it to start and get all their candy :)

Our crew all at the parade

Thanks to Pinterest we really got into the patriotic food as well

Here's our cool 4th drinks

And red, white and blue cake

After the parade we all went on a new hike.
