Baptism Day

Jared and Kamryn were baptized on June 1st, 2013.  It was a very special day for our family.  We were very lucky that they were the only ones scheduled to be baptized in our stake so we were able to do our own family baptism under the direction of our bishop.
It was neat to be able to have Jared and Kamryn help plan the program and the party.  They knew right off that they wanted Taylor and Brooke to give the talks during the program.  And they both did a great job with their talks.
We are very grateful for wonderful family and friends who came to support them on their special day.  We were especially thankful that Grandma could come to their baptism.

Long term sub

I have been working a lot this last school year - as a substitute for Canyons School district.  I worked a lot more than ever - sometimes 4-5 days a week for several weeks in a row.
I spent the last 5 weeks of the school year doing a long term sub job in first grade.
The teacher had to have emergency surgery and was out for the rest of the year.
I've never done a long term job like that and it was a big learning experience for me.
I had to do all the lesson plans, something I've never done before.
Luckily it was the end of the year and not too much new teaching had to be done.
And also lucky, I'd subbed in that class several times before and knew the kids
and really liked the class.  They were great and adapted very well to having a different teacher.
These pictures were taken on our school fun run day.

love these kids!

Spring Dance Recital

Its so fun to have Kamryn and Katie both taking dance from Miss Liz at Leapin Lizards Dance Studio.  The spring recital is always so cute and all of the girls do such a great job on their dances.  Its kind of long (over 2 hours) but all of the dances are so cute.   The theme this year was Celebrate You.  Kamryn even got 2 awards at the beginning of the recital this time - she got perfect attendance and a necklace for being in the 5 yr club.

Kamryn's first dance was
"party in the USA"

and her 2nd dance was
"Rockin' around the clock"

Raingutter Regatta

Jared turned 8 in May and was only able to go to one cub scout den meeting and then one pack meeting before the summer break.  He was lucky to be able to have a really fun pack meeting for his very first one. They did a very informal and simple raingutter regatta.  He had a lot of fun and did very well racing his boat.

he really got the technique down very quickly

he knew just how to blow on his sail to make his boat really go

2nd Grade field trip

Jared and Kamryn were lucky to go on their 2nd grade field trip to Thanksgiving Point.  They got to spend time in the dinosaur museum and at the farm.  It was a fun time for everyone.

Catching up again

Here I am catching up again - I guess the only place I blog lately is when we are up at the cabin.  And we are up here for the 4th holiday.  Life has been super crazy and I can't even stay up with all the absolute necessities, let alone the extras.  So I will try hard to get caught up while we are here at the cabin for one more night!  Wish we could stay longer - definitely my favorite place to be.
