Finishing First Grade

These are some pictures from Jared and Kamryn's 1st grade class.  These were all taken on their last Friday in school, which happened to be the day they were taking a field trip to the zoo.  They had such a great 1st grade class with really cool kids and an AMAZING teacher!

This photo was on the last day of school - Their teacher had them all go around and say what they liked best about first grade and what their plans were for the summer.  I wish I would've taken notes so I could remember some of the funny stuff that they said.  Jared said he liked learning about animals, bats especially.  Kamryn said she remembered when their teacher left a cup on her chair and then forgot it was there and then sat on it.

Kamryn's 7th Birthday

Kamryn's birthday party was in the afternoon in our backyard, thank goodness for beautiful spring weather.  She also had a party put on by Little Dress Up Parties.  Her party was a fashion queen party complete with a fashion adviser all the way from Paris.  I loved watching all the girls having fun with all the great dress ups.  They created their own outfits and modeled them and then did makeup and had another fashion show in evening wear.  The girls were a little shy at first but got into it after a few trips down the runway. The biggest surprise of all was Kamryn, who can be pretty shy - she really had fun modeling and knew how to strike a pose and strut her stuff on the runway.  Man was her Dad rolling his eyes during all of it.

The fashion adviser also stressed to the girls that beauty comes from within and the most important part of any outfit is their smile.  Glad she added that very important lesson.

Twins Birthday

We tried to keep the twins birthdays as separate as possible this year so they could each have their "own day."  We did do their gifts from their grandparents together - they each got a new camp/soccer chair and then $10 in one dollar bills.  They had so much fun counting their money.  Thanks Grandma and Granddad.

Jared's Birthday

Almost a month later I'm finally getting a chance to go through all the photos from Jared's birthday party.

He turned 7 on May 12th, which was a Saturday, so it worked out perfectly to have his party on his actual birthday.  I'd been lucky enough to get a good deal thru City Deals to buy this birthday party package from a company called Little Dress Up Parties.  

Jared's party was a SuperHero party and all of the boys had a great time

with Spiderman.  They learned how to do moves like a superhero, fight bad guys and even went on an obstacle course all over the yard.

Graduation Announcement

I can't believe I have another one of my children 

about to graduate from high school.

I just barely went through this with Justin

and now Brooke.

She graduates in 5 days!

She's had a drawing class at school this last trimester

and she's really done some amazing work.

Students of the Week

At Jared and Kamryn's school each week there are students of the week.

The grades rotate the weeks and a couple of weeks ago it was first grade's turn

Each 1st grade teacher pick a student from their class to be the student of the week from their class.
